How to set up Hubspot Custom Objects

Configuring Custom Objects for Prelay:

This example walks through setting up a Prelay Play custom object. The same process can be done for Prelay Assists and Prelay Play Actions.

Creating a Prelay Play custom object

  1. Select the settings gear on the top right of Hubspot.

  2. Navigate to Data Management > Objects > Custom Objects.

  3. Click Create Custom Object

  4. Fill out the following fields

    1. Object name (Singular): Prelay Play

    2. Object name (Plural): Prelay Plays

    3. Primary display property: Title

    4. Property type: Single-line text

  5. Click Create.

Required fields for Prelay field mapping

This sets up a unique Prelay ID field, which lets Prelay track the association between the object in Prelay and the one exported to Hubspot.

  1. Click Manage Prelay Play Properties.

  2. Click Create property.

  3. Fill out the the following fields:

    1. Group: Prelay Play Information

    2. Label: Prelay ID

  4. Click Next.

  5. Select Single-line text.

  6. Click Next.

  7. Check Require unique values for this property.

  8. Click Create.

Configuring Field Mapping in Prelay

  1. Under Settings > Field Mapping > Plays, click Add Mapping

  2. On the Prelay side, select Play ID

  3. On the Hubspot side, select the Prelay ID field created earlier (note that you may have to scroll to the bottom)

  4. Repeat the same process for Title

  5. Click Save, then Saves Changes again to confirm.

Configuring Associations

  1. Under Associations, click Create new association.

  2. Select Deals, then Create.

  3. Select Configure association limit.

  4. Set Prelay Play-to-Deals to Custom, then Save.

  5. Click the dropdown for Prelay Plays-to-Deals > Enable other associations

  6. Select Companies, then Create

  7. Click Configure association limit

  8. Set Prelay Play-to-Companies to Custom, then Save.
